### Test 1: What the reports count and games played

- Rule 19 leaves out of the at-bats any time the batter is awarded first base for interference or obstruction. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.1.2)
- Each out is a third of an inning: six full innings plus one out is 6 1/3, written 6.1. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.3.2)
- He gets four full innings, and the report notes how many batters he faced in the fifth. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.3.2)
- A batter is not charged with grounding into a double play when he is out for a preceding runner's interference. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.1.16)
- The left-on-base total includes a batter-runner whose hit led to another runner being put out for the third out. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.5.4)
- Weather and lighting delays are taken off the time of the game; time spent on an injured player or umpire is not. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.4.9)
- Everyone named in the batting order gets a game played in batting; defence is credited only for actually playing a position. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.3)
- The report names the umpire-in-chief first, then the umpires at first, second and third base, then any outfield umpires. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.4.7)
- A substitute who enters before a pitch or play is made gets a game played in batting, but nothing in defence. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.3.2)
- Every runner who stays on base without scoring or being put out counts towards the team's runners left on base. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.2.5.4)

## 19.192 Averages, Leaders and Streaks

Slugging, on-base, earned run and fielding averages, the minimums to qualify and streak records.

### Test 1: Averages, leaders and streaks

- Slugging average is the total bases reached on safe hits divided by the times at bat. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.2)
- Times a batter reaches first on interference or obstruction are not used in on-base percentage. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.3)
- Earned run average uses the competition's own coefficient, which is 7 for the U-15, U-18, U-23 and women's World Cups. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.5)
- Fielding average is putouts plus assists divided by putouts, assists and errors together. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.6)
- Games played times the event's coefficient, 2.7 at the Premier12, rounded to the nearest whole number: 22. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.7.1)
- A walk, a hit by pitch, interference or a sacrifice bunt do not end a hitting streak, but a sacrifice fly does. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.8.1)
- The streak needs half an inning in the field or a completed at-bat; a pinch-running appearance alone does not extend it. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.8.3)
- On-base percentage is (H + BB + HP) divided by (AB + BB + HP + SF). (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.3)
- Earned run average is earned runs times the event's coefficient, divided by innings pitched including thirds. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.6.5)
- A consecutive-games streak continues when a player is ejected before he can meet the requirements. (Source: WBSC ORB 2025-2026, Rule 19.8.3)
