Entries, centring and exits, flying spins, changes of foot and edge, speed.

## Test 1: Entries, centring and exits

- The entrance must lead into the intended basic position within the first two revolutions of the spin. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- There should be a clear jump with a good air position; a step over is marked as a poor fly in the GOE. (Source: ISU Handbook for Referees & Judges, Single and Pair Skating 2026/27)
- The spin bullets include good speed, clear positions, effortlessness, a centred spin, creativity and the music; staying on the spot is the centring one. (Source: ISU Communication 2788, Levels of Difficulty and GOE Guidelines, Single & Pair Skating 2026/27)
- A spin that wanders from its centre is marked for travelling, one of the spin errors. (Source: ISU Communication 2788, Levels of Difficulty and GOE Guidelines, Single & Pair Skating 2026/27)
- For a flying camel the difficult fly is a clear butterfly entrance or an almost split position in the air. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- A difficult exit is any movement or jump that makes leaving the spin significantly harder, with a real effect on balance and control. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- Taking too long to reach a basic position is marked as a poor, weak or awkward position. (Source: ISU Handbook for Referees & Judges, Single and Pair Skating 2026/27)
- There is no rotation on the ice before the take-off; the butterfly flies, lands and settles into the camel quickly. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- In a flying spin or a spin in one position the difficult exit must start from the basic position, not from a final wind-up. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- D loops round on the ice before taking off, which flying spins do not allow. A, B and C glide in on a curve and jump straight off it. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27; ISU Handbook for Referees & Judges, Single and Pair Skating 2026/27)

## Test 2: Changes, edges and speed

- A change of foot by jump counts only when the skater reaches camel or sit within two revolutions; into upright it does not. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- A toe Arabian used as the change of foot counts as a change of foot executed by jump. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- In the sit position only the change from a backward inside to a forward outside edge is counted. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- Spinning in both directions needs at least three revolutions each way, with the position held two revolutions on either side of the change. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- Speeding up counts once the position is established; speeding up while moving from one basic position to another does not. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- The skater uses the blade in a way that clearly affects balance, for example spinning on the heel or the toe of the blade. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- Each windmill in the row must reach close to a split, at least 135 degrees, and no hand may touch the ice. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- On the same foot one turn or one change of edge is allowed while the direction changes. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- A clear change of edge needs at least two continuous revolutions on each edge, in the same position. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
- A turns three times one way and three the other. B has only two the first way, C never changes, D only two the second way. (Source: ISU Technical Panel Handbook, Single Skating 2026/27)
