## 11.111 Beyond and Under the Net

When a hand may pass the net, and how far feet and body may go under it into the opponents' court and free zone.

### Тест 1: Beyond and under the net

- A blocker may reach beyond the net provided the opponents' play is not interfered with before their attack hit. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.1.1)
- The follow-through may cross the net as long as the initial contact was in his own playing space and the ball was not caught or thrown. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.1.2)
- Penetration under the net is permitted as long as it does not interfere with the opponents. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.1)
- Touching the opponent court with a foot is allowed if part of that foot stays in contact with or directly above the centre line, without interfering. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.2.1)
- Any part of the body above the feet may touch the opponent court provided it does not interfere with their play. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.2.2; Casebook 2024 3.16)
- Entering the opponent court is allowed once the ball is out of play. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.3)
- The opponents' free zone may be entered provided their play is not interfered with. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.4)
- In B the whole foot is beyond the centre line in the opponents' court; in A and C part stays on the line, and D is on the player's own side. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.2.1, 11.4.3)
- A foot may reach over while part of it stays on or above the line; a foot fully in the opponent court is a fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.2.1, 11.4.3)
- The centre line divides the two courts, and each court is surrounded by its free zone. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 1.3.3, 11.2)

## 11.112 Contact with the Net

Which net touches are faults, what the action of playing the ball covers, and what may be touched outside the antennae.

### Тест 1: Contact with the net

- Touching the net between the antennae while playing the ball is a fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1)
- Among other things it covers the take-off, the hit or attempt, and landing safely, ready for a new action. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1)
- Objects outside the antennae, the net included, may be touched provided play is not interfered with. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.2)
- When the ball driven into the net makes it touch an opponent, no fault is committed. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.3; Casebook 2024 3.20)
- The action ended with the safe landing, so a later touch is not a net fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1; Casebook 2024 3.21)
- A player close to the ball who is trying to play it is in the action, even with no contact. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1, 11.4.4; Casebook 2024 3.22)
- Such a touch is a fault only if it clearly affects the opponents' play or interrupts the rally. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.4.4; Casebook 2024 3.27)
- A blocker close to the ball touching the top band is in the action of playing; landing then turning, touching outside the antenna, and the net driven onto a player are not faults. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3, 11.4.4)
- The action runs from the take-off through the hit to a safe landing. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1)
- Using the net between the antennae as a support or stabilising aid is interference. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.4.4; Casebook 2024 3.25)

## 11.113 Faults and Interference at the Net

The listed faults at the net and interference, with match situations from the FIVB Casebook.

### Тест 1: Faults and interference at the net

- Touching the ball or an opponent in the opponents' space before their attack hit is a fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.4.1)
- Catching or holding the net is one of the listed forms of interference. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.4.4)
- Trying counts: being close to the ball and going for it is enough, contact or not. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.4.4)
- The setter was still in the action of playing the ball, so the net touch is a fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1, 11.4.4; Casebook 2024 3.26)
- The players of a collective block count as a unit; if one is still in the action, the whole unit is. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1; Casebook 2024 3.27.2)
- Interference can occur without physical contact if it prevents the opponent from playing the ball. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.1; Casebook 2024 3.27.3)
- The side line lies inside the opponent court, so a whole foot on it, with no part on the centre line, is a fault. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2.2.1; Casebook 2024 3.18)
- Standing on the opponents' side line and making them dodge is a fault; harmless hair, a hand on the court and a follow-through are not. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.2, 11.4; Casebook 2024 3.17)
- Both acts are faults, but when faults follow each other only the first is counted. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 6.1.2.1, 11.4.1; Casebook 2024 3.12)
- The first three fall inside the action of playing the ball; the last comes after it. (Источник: FIVB OVR 2025-2028, Rule 11.3.1)
