Futsal · Level 5

Upper-Intermediate

5 sub-levels · 50 tests · 500 facts · updated 15 October 2026

Level 5 covers the parts of futsal that have no equivalent in eleven-a-side and decide tight matches: the flying goalkeeper in attack as a permanent five-against-four power play (building the overload, the man in the pocket, finishing the extra-man attack, the cost of a turnover); defending the flying goalkeeper (the four-against-five press, forcing the ball backwards, the passing-lane trap, the shot at the empty net, staying compact, why fouling to stop it backfires); the sixth accumulated foul and the ten-metre free kick (fouls one to five against the DFKSAF, the second penalty mark, no wall, the goalkeeper's line, the taker's options, attacking and defending the free strike); rehearsed set pieces (kick-in plays, corner routines, the indirect free kick near goal, disguising the first move, rehearsed against read); and end-game scenarios (equalising in the last minute, protecting a one-goal lead, playing a man up or a man down for two minutes, extra time and the shoot-out, the timeout as a tactics board).

Written from

FIFA Futsal Coaching Manual (2025), chapter 11 (Futsal tactics), sections 11.1.4.3 Power play, 11.2.7 Counter-press and 11.2.8 Defending the power play, plus chapter 12 (Set pieces), for the power-play, transition and set-piece material this level covers, supplemented by well-established general futsal coaching knowledge where the manual isn't pinned to a specific figure or clause. A handful of questions in 5.3 and 5.5 recap specific Law facts already verified for Level 2 (the accumulated-foul count and DFKSAF, the timeout, extra time and kicks from the penalty mark, the two-minute numerical reduction); those cite the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game. As with Levels 3-4, this material is judgement-based rather than a Law citation.
