5 sub-levels · 50 tests · 500 facts · updated 15 October 2026

Level 4 moves from naming futsal's shapes and moves to how a team runs them: choosing a base system and living with its trade-offs (the 4-0, the 3-1 with a fixed pivot, the 2-2, the 1-2-1 diamond), chaining rotations (the third-man rotation, the Y, the L into the corner, the 8; parallel against diagonal runs; keeping the far post filled), pressing as a unit (full-, half- and quarter-court pressure, individual against zonal marking, the diamond and box shapes, pressing triggers, covering the pivot), the two transitions (attacking before the defence sets, the outlet pass and the four-second window; delaying to recover shape, and the foul to stop a break), and managing a game by score and clock (the timeout, the accumulated-foul count, holding a lead against chasing a goal, committing the flying goalkeeper, closing the last two minutes).

Sub-levels

Written from

FIFA Futsal Coaching Manual (2025), chapter 11 (Futsal tactics), for the systems, rotations, pressing and transition material this level covers, supplemented by well-established general futsal coaching knowledge where the manual itself isn't pinned to a specific figure or clause. As with Level 3, this material is judgement-based rather than a Law citation.
