Level 6 moves from doing to seeing: the principles behind the moves and how a team is read and scouted. Principles of play (the attacking principles of penetration, support, width, mobility and improvisation, and the defending principles of pressure, cover, balance, compactness and control on a forty-by-twenty court, with the players without the ball mattering more than the one on it); phases of play (build-up, progression, finishing, defensive organisation and the two transitions, and how a player's job changes by phase and by zone); space, time and numbers (manufacturing a free man, the two-against-one, the goalkeeper as the plus-one, the value of the corner and the far post, pinning a marker with the pivot); role profiles at the top level (what an elite goleiro, fixo, ala and pivo do in and out of possession, the universal player, fitting a player to a system); and analysing an opponent (reading their system and rotations, their pressing triggers, their set-piece menu, their flying-goalkeeper cue, and turning the read into a game plan).
