Law 17 covers when a corner kick is awarded (whole ball over the end line after a defender's touch, no goal), where and how it is taken (corner area, stationary ball, four seconds, 5m from the corner arc, only the kicker off the pitch), why a goal may be scored directly against the opponents but not into the kicker's own goal, and every offence and sanction (second touch, kicking at an opponent, a team-mate off the pitch, and the goal clearance for other offences).
