Test 2Positions and variationsTake a test
Camel forward, sideways and upward differ in the shoulder line: parallel to the ice, turned to vertical, or past vertical.

Upward is the most twisted group: the shoulders turn beyond the vertical while the free leg stays in the camel.

The three difficult upright groups follow the torso: leaning forward, straight up or sideways, or in the Biellmann position.

The free foot is pulled up from behind, higher than and towards the top of the head, close to the spinning axis.

In a headless variation the head and neck move back from the main axis of the body core, which upsets the balance.

A simple variation moves a body part without upsetting the core's balance; a difficult one needs strength or flexibility and does affect it.

A crossfoot spin is skated on both feet with even weight, toes held close together and heels open.
