Le chapitre 10 traite des cousins et des dérivés du hockey sur gazon : le shinty, le camogie, le bandy, le floorball, le rink hockey, le hockey subaquatique, le hockey en monocycle, le hockey en salle et le Hockey5s. Certains sont plus anciens que le jeu moderne, et certains se pratiquent là où personne ne s'y attendrait.
La Camanachd Cup du shinty est une coupe en argent que l'on se passe entre vainqueurs et que l'on remplit de whisky. Le camogie, le jeu de crosse féminin irlandais, organise un championnat All-Ireland depuis 1932 et appartient à la famille de la GAA, proche du hurling. Le Bury Fen Bandy Club, sur les Fens gelés du Cambridgeshire près du village de Bluntisham, a rédigé des règles de hockey sur glace, et C.G. Tebbutt a écrit un manuel de bandy. Le floorball s'appelle innebandy en Suède, ce qui signifie « bandy en salle », et utilise des crosses en plastique d'environ un mètre de long.
Le rink hockey sur patins à roulettes a une Coupe des nations disputée depuis 1921, avec des interruptions, et c'est le plus ancien tournoi international de ce sport. Le hockey subaquatique, appelé à l'origine Octopush, se joue avec des tubas, et le but est une gouttière métallique de trois mètres de large. Le hockey en monocycle compte des joueurs de la préadolescence jusqu'à la soixantaine. Un club allemand de tennis et de hockey de Wiesbaden a rédigé les premières règles du hockey en salle, et le Hockey5s est apparu pour la première fois aux Jeux de la jeunesse de Nankin.
